AISR Erasmus

October 2020 - December 2022

EUROPEAN GRANT FUNDING SUCCESS FOR STEM

We are delighted that we have secured over 900,000 Euros from Erasmus+ funding and were able to employ three new staff from our city for the following posts:

  • Game/app development

  • ESOL teacher

  • Project management

 

Local schools and students will benefit from:

 

  • Free educational resources, innovative pedagogies and methods for teaching and assessing STEM in the classroom, 

  • new educational technologies such as a STEM careers augmented reality app and a nutrition related minecraft like mobile game,

  • Research carried out by AISR into the current and future STEM professions and careers available to our local students

  • Virtual STEM mentoring scheme to be able to connect with STEM professionals locally, nationally and internationally in order to learn about the mentors' profession, day to day activities, responsibilities, qualifications and/or experience required.

AISR is proud to take part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Science Festival in India

February 17, 2018

SCIENCE FESTIVAL NI

AISR in partnership with STEM Aware and Ulster University carried out the CSI Connected Classroom project as part of the Science Festival Northern Ireland. The focus of our project was to involve students in an international science investigation, where they had to carry out a series of experiments such as code breaking, fingerprint analysis and further scientific analysis. AISR's CEO, Dr Terry McIvor was mentoring the Indian students at HHSIB-SHSS Edneer school in India and Roisin Crawford and Maria McGilloway were mentoring the students at St. Mary's School in Derry-Londonderry in order to eliminate suspicious characters and investigate the crime. Accreditation in Nigeria

July - September, 2020

CHANGING THE EDUCATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE WITHIN AFRICA 

We are very excited with the level of the preparedness of various Colleges of Health Sciences and Technology across Nigeria, to deliver our Level 5 UK standard Medical Partway (MediPath) in Medical Sciences and Allied Medical Science programme, a programme that will enable aspiring University admission seekers to be admitted into 200 Level in any Nigerian Universities, to study Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Allied Medical Profession courses. Our Cultural Visits are completely bespoke and can include just excursions or a combination of English lessons with qualified teachers and/or STEM workshops/vocational or craft workshops (if required) and excursions to famous landmarks. IZAK9 MATHS CUBES

APPLIED MATHEMATICAL HUB

The Academy opened its Applied Mathematics Hub! We are holding workshops for local schools to develop mathematical thinking and problem solving skills. We are reaching out to to schools in order to run workshops and making mathematics fun through 3D printing, the use of izak9 cubes and interactive projects. We will be partnering with local universities to measure the impact of how AISR's Application of Mathematics Hub programme has on the mathematical skills improvement in our schools. BETT

AISR exhibited its educational technology solutions at the British Education Training and Technology (BETT London Excel) Show  in January 2018. It has been a great show, buzzing atmosphere, powerful conversations into what the future of the education holds. AISR showcased its virtual reality (VR) laboratory, educational augmented reality (AR) posters and its STEM mobile game. We believe in creating a better future by transforming education. AISR LAUNCH

"Congratulations Dr. Terry A.J. McIvor and Zita Bertha for a fantastic launch of Ireland's first privately owned STEM school based in Clarendon Street, Derry/Londonderry. The Academy for International Science and Research was officially opened for business today by Dr. Stephen Farry who spoke about the importance of STEM for the economy.
