JUGAAD is a dynamic project focused on upskilling teachers and supporting students in integrating a STEM approach into their educational journey. Our mission is to prepare the future generation with essential STEM skills and digital competences, emphasizing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. More information can be found on the project website: https://jugaadproject.eu/

The JUGAAD project is dedicated to enhancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) education and fostering essential digital competences for both teachers and students. In recognising the changing demands of education in the 21st century, JUGAAD focuses on creating a rich, supportive framework of tools and practices that empower educators and learners alike.

Key objectives include:

  1. Promoting STEM Education – Encouraging interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, experiential learning and problem-solving approaches to make STEM more engaging and relevant.

  2. Developing Digital Skills – Equipping educators and students with up-to-date digital competences across a wide range of subjects and educational contexts.

  3. Supporting Educators – Providing teachers with concrete tools, resources and workshops to assist them in delivering effective and inspiring STEM education.

  4. Fostering an Assessment Framework – Establishing a modern evaluation system that focuses on functional, motivating skills and engages students in their learning process.

  5. Bridging the Gender Gap – Committing to gender equality in STEM by ensuring equal learning opportunities and encouraging under-represented genders to participate fully.

PROJECT RESULTS

  1. Education Toolkit
A set of 15 hands-on workshops for students aged 8-14, designed to be used in three modalities: remote implementation; using computers or tablets; and using basic STEM kits.
The toolkit includes a teacher’s manual (methodology), workshop cards, list of accessories for classroom activities, teacher-guidance, ideas for diversification, materials lists, and preparatory work.
    Access the materials HERE.

  2. Assessment Toolkit
A competence-framework for educators and students, built upon the partner countries’ STEAM curricula and the European digital competence frameworks (DigCompEdu & DigComp 2.2).
Includes self-assessment tools for educators to reflect on their teaching competencies, STEAM strategies and digital technology use.
This is a benchmarking/self-assessment tool for teachers, thus to be completed pre and post-workshop to measure improvement in competencies. Access the Assessment Toolkit HERE.

  3. E-Platform
An online interactive learning platform (in all eight languages) that hosts the Education Toolkit and Assessment Toolkit as open educational resources (OER), available for teachers and students alike. Serves as a hub for project materials, supporting implementation and replication of the project’s resources. You can access the e-platform HERE.
