Course Summary
Nurses play a crucial role in today’s healthcare system. The Nursing Skills course is designed to provide you with essential nursing concepts, from anatomy to clinical nursing skills, which are necessary for treating a variety of conditions and disorders.
The nursing skills taught on the course (e.g. blood pressure, pulse, respiration, oral care, feeding etc.) will be assessed by way of OSCEs (observable structured clinical examinations). This assessment will be conducted at agreed dates throughout both semesters.
This course and suitable for those:
• who are interested in becoming a nurse, care assistant and/or nursing auxiliary
• who are currently working in the healthcare sector and wish to upgrade their knowledge
This course prepares you for higher education and/or employment within the nursing vocational field.

Progression Opportunities
You will have an opportunity to carry out the Practical Skills in Care Provision 2, which is part of the Back to Nursing course, if you have gained Merit or Distinction in Practical Skills in Care Provision 1. There is a registration fee of £79 for the additional module.
