This course provides a broad experimental introduction to laboratory science.

You will explore a variety of industries and career opportunities in science laboratories locally, nationally and globally. The course enables you to develop the basic practical skills and knowledge needed for working in a laboratory such as measuring, weighing and preparing compounds and solutions, and health and safety requirements.


You will also develop practical skills in microbiology, measuring radioactivity, chemical handling and laboratory instrumentation. The course involves practical investigations and emphasizes the employability skills and qualities valued by employers.


Entry Requirements:

12 Standard / GCSE English and Mathematics grade A - C and 2 A Levels A - D or Level 3 Diploma MP or Extended Diploma PPP in a Science discipline or equivalent. Qualifications deemed equivalent by the Examination Committee will also be accepted.


For international students an IELTS score of 5.5 is required. We provide IELTS Live Interactive Online Course.


If you do not have formal qualifications at Level 3 but can demonstrate extensive relevant work experience and/or achievement on a range of professional qualifications in Science are also welcome to apply.
