About The Event

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is a method for designing lessons that integrate activities specific to second language teaching and learning with content from either academic or non-academic subjects. Whether you teach an academic subject or a foreign language, you will be exposed to great examples of creating content-driven lessons in a foreign language that are fun and engaging.

This course is addressed to school teachers of any discipline.

Day 1: 

- Welcome by Principal 

- Course outline 

- Team Working activities

- Introduction to CLIL

Day 2: 

- School Presentations comparing the various EU school systems

- Teaching language through Science 

Day 3: 

- Onilne tools for digital storytelling

- Apps to imrpove students' speaking skills

- Project based learning 

Day 4:

- Summary of  activities 

- Course Evaluation and Feedback 

- Graduation 

- Participation certificate awarded.

Day 5:

- You have the opportunity to choose from workshops or cultural visits. If you choose workshops, these would be delivered on Day 4 and the certification would take place on Day 5. 

Please note that a cultural visit is not included in the price, it will be extra depending on your chosen destination. 

Certification

At the end of the course, each participant will be awarded with a certificate of attendance and if requested with a Europass Mobility Certificate. If your school/educational organisation requires additional documents to certify your presence/competencies learnt/learning outcomes, please let us know and we will provide you with the required documents/pictures/videos.

Training Content

Our training is completely bespoke, therefore the above schedule can be tailored to your school's/organisation's needs to ensure that this professional training will be the best fit model for your school. If you wish, we can incorporate cultural visits on Day 5, destinations could include Glenveagh National Park, Doagh Famine Village and Maline Head or Slieve League. We can also arrange your accommodation if it is required. The price of the cultural visit will be dependant on your chosen destination and the number of participants. Erasmus+ Funds

All school teachers, trainers, headmasters and non-teaching staff of educational organisations are eligible to receive Erasmus+ grant to cover all costs relating to this Teacher Training under Key Action 1. To receive the Erasmus plus KA1 funding, the sending institution needs to submit the KA1 application. Please remember that there is only one deadline per year, so be sure not to miss it! For further information regarding KA1 application, please refer to the Erasmus guide.

What you need to bring along

Laptops are provided, however, if you wish to bring your own laptop or iPad, please feel free to do so.

The training days run from 9 am to 4pm with an hour lunch break. Lunch is included.

Booking, Payment, and Deposit

Our training requires full payment at the time of booking to guarantee your spot. This ticket is non-refundable; however if we are able to fill your spot before the workshop we will refund 50%. Refunds made more than 30 days after payment are subject to a 3% processing fee. Up to 30 days before a workshop you can reschedule and apply your ticket fee to a future workshop. Your entire ticket fee becomes non-refundable and non-transferable 30 days before the workshop. Refund will not be provided for arranged accommodation and other third party services.

If AISR cancels a workshop for any reason, your entire fee will be transferred to another workshop or refunded to you at your discretion.  For further information, please refer to our Cancellation Policy.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover your costs in case of cancellation or withdrawal.

The training can also be delivered online due to COVID-19 travel ristrictions.
