Course Summary
Our CPD First Aid courses include the Emergency First Aid at Work and the intensive one day Paediatric First Aid training.
The Emergency First Aid at Work is suitable for people aged 16+ who might need to provide first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.
It is ideal for organisations whose first aid needs assessment has identified a requirement for someone to hold a current emergency first aid at work qualification.
The Emergency Paediatric First Aid course is suitable for people aged 16+ who care for children in any professional setting such as child-minders, nursery workers and child care professionals. This 6 hour refresher course is only for participants who have previously completed the 12 hour course within the last 3 years and are looking to refresh their knowledge and qualification. You must complete the course within 28 days of your current certificate expiry date.
The refresher course is organised to ensure that skills required to carry out your roles and responsibilities effectively are maintained.
What Will I Study?
You will learn Emergency First Aid at Work techniques, which can help you save a life or treat someone for an injury or condition.
You will develop the skills and confidence to help someone who is:

unresponsive and not breathing

having a seizure

choking

bleeding heavily

suffering from shock

burnt.
The course also includes information on:

assessing a casualty

monitoring a casualty

where to get help

The Emergency Paediatric First Aid course's content:

Understand the role and responsibility of the paediatric first aider

Understand vital signs in baby/child/infant

CPR resuscitation baby/child/infant/Adult

Assess an emergency situation safely

Be able to provide first aid for an infant/child who is unresponsive and breathing normally

Be able to provide first aid for a baby/infant/child

Choking, external bleeding, nosebleeds

Recognition of a head injury

AED awareness
